The competition "Glimpses of Kindness" is intended to inspire people to carry out kindness to others by:

• highlighting the kindness that is provided in society both daily and at times of need
  
  
• drawing attention to the needs of some people within our community
  
  
• empowering beneficiaries of kindness to show their appreciation and respect publicly to the person who has helped them
  
  
• celebrating the kindness carried out by people and conferring on them the high regard and special status that society accords to people of kindness

The competition is organised by the Humanity Trust to further the objectives of its Humanity Project, whose goals are to "inspire a greater level of humanity in society".
